Is the Samsung Galaxy S4‘s camera really better than the iPhone 5‘s?

Apple's iPhone range has long been the standard bearer for smartphone cameras, but it has now been bested by its great rival Samsung, according to new tests.
In photo and video tests DxO Labs, the Samsung Galaxy S4 camera performed higher than the Apple iPhone 5 by an overall score of 75 to 72.
The Galaxy S4 ousted Apple as well as the Nokia Lumia 920 in most of the main categories for photos and videos and was especially good in bright light, according to the tests.
Top of the pile is still the Nokia 808 Pureview handset, although the Symbian OS and the limited availability of the device means its not a mainstream contender.

BlackBerry may unveil cheaper BB10 phone

he CEO of BlackBerry will deliver a keynote speech amid speculation that he will introduce a lower-priced phone running on the BB10 platform at the company's annual three-day conference in Orlando, Florida.

CEO Thorsten Heins is set to speak Tuesday morning. The Canadian manufacturer unveiled new, versatile BlackBerry phones earlier this year after delays allowed Apple and others to dominate the smartphone market.
The BlackBerry, pioneered in 1999, had been the dominant smartphone for on-the-go business people and consumers before the iPhone debuted in 2007 and showed that phones can handle much more than email and calls. The company faced numerous delays modernizing its operating system. During that time, it had to cut more than 5,000 jobs and saw shareholder wealth decline by more than $70 billion.

The plaintiffs claimed when their names were entered on Google's German-language website, it suggested links to Scientology and fraud.

A report in SamMobile, which has a stellar record in Samsung leaks, says that Samsung is developing Galaxy S4 Zoom. Galaxy S4 has a 13MP camera, offering the highest resolution among the phones in its portfolio, while other top-of-the-line devices like Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III feature 8MP units.

Delhi Metro Launches Online Facility To Recharge Smart Cards

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC), which handles the operations of Deli’s Metro travel services, has brought an end to woes of thousands of daily passengers by coming up with an online portal for the general public which will help them recharge their already availed smart cards through online transactions by using their debit and credit cards.
“With this new facility, commuters will now be able to top up their smart cards using debit or credit cards. However, recharge using net-banking facility is not available yet,” a DMRC official said.
Commuters using the Metro can recharge or top-up their smart cards by visiting www.delhimetrorail.com and www.dmrcsmartcard.com.  ICICI bank has agreed to partner with DMRC to provide online automated fare collection and also integrate is payment mechanisms on the official DMRC website.
As far as formalities are concerned, I think the payment procedure and top-up/recharge process on their website is quite straightforward too. Commuters just need to log on to the DMRC website, type in the amount they wish to recharge and then type out the 11 11 digit Metro card number engraved on the back side of their smart card. They also need to enter their email address. After the user provides the above details, he/she will only have to choose the preferred payment option: debit or credit card.
But this does not end here. After finishing with the online recharge process, commuters will have to validate their particular recharges through the Ticket Reader Cum Add Value Machines, which have been installed at 13 Metro stations, namely Dilshad Garden, Welcome, Shahadara, Seelampur, Shashtri Park, Pragati Maidan, Karkarduma, Nirman Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Barakhamba, RK Asharam, Jhandewalan and Rajendra Place. The Ticket Reader is a machine which can provide information about a smart card, including total value available, last five entry and exit transactions, etc.
In March this year, DMRC announced it would be launching a mobile app for Delhi Metro, which would provide commuters with fare details, nearest metro stations details etc. and had floated a tender for the same.

How to send, share heavy files

Email service providers limit the size of the files you can attach to 25MB. That becomes a problem if you have too many photos or videos to send. Most people get round the problem by sending the files in batches, though it is annoying for the sender as well as the receiver.
Cloud-based storage systems have made the task easier. Users of Google Drive, SkyDrive of Microsoft and Dropbox can share files uploaded to them with another user. So no need to send any file. You can also attach a file directly from Google Drive to Gmail.
SkyDrive offers free storage space of 7GB, Google Drive 5GB and Dropbox 2.5GB which goes up gradually as an incentive with usage.
Yahoo recently tied up with Dropbox to make the task simpler. The attachments received on Yahoo Mail can be saved to Dropbox, and files in Dropbox can be attached to Yahoo Mail. Attachments more than 25MB can also be attached to Yahoo Mail but sent via Dropbox.

The story changes track as it narrates the tale of Gangasagar Mishra, the reincarnation of Chanakya, in parallel. Will he be the next kingmaker? Gangasagar Mishra, a denizen of a quaint old Indian town, is no ordinary man. Chanakya's Chant by Ashwin Sanghi gives its readers a look into two parallel worlds that are tied together by the intelligence of the main protagonists. The scene then shifts to modern day India, where Gangasagar Mishra leads his life as a nonentity – until he decides to groom an ambitious girl from Kanpur into India's prime minister.

CERN recreates world‘s first web page

The world's first web page will be dragged out of cyberspace and restored for today's internet browsers as part of a project to celebrate 20 years of the web, organisers said today.
The European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) said it had begun recreating the website that launched that world wide web, as well as the hardware that made the groundbreaking technology possible.
The world's first website was about the technology itself, according to CERN, allowing early browsers to learn about the new system and create their own web pages.
The project will allow future generations to understand the origin and importance of the web and its impact on modern life, CERN web manager Dan Noyes told AFP.
"We're going to put these things back in place, so that a web developer or someone who's interested 100 years from now can read the first documentation that came out from the world wide web team," he said.

Google Glasses are water-resistant: Expert

he Google Glass, which overlays digital information in the real world, could be water-proof, as a well known technology and social media personality has discovered.
Even though Google Chairman Eric Schmidt had said that there might be some places where the glasses might not be best to wear, technology expert Robert Scoble found that his personal shower is not one of those places, reports ABC News.
Scoble, who received his 1,500-dollar Explorer version of Glass two weeks ago, has been documenting his time with the wearable device on Google+.
Scoble said the photo was staged, but he wanted to show everyone that the device is water-resistant. He said he knew they would survive, as they were in a rainstorm last week. So he put them out under the shower to prove his point.

Apple iPhone 5S launch date revealed

Rumour mills have for long speculating on the launch of the alleged iPhone 5S. Now, a news report also claims to have got the launch date of the much-awaited smartphone, the follow up to Apple's current flagship iPhone 5.

French website Nowhereelse.fr, which has a decent record of leaks surrounding Apple products, has released the image of an internal document of Japanese telecom operator KDDI. This document states that iPhone 5S will be announced on June 20 and hit the stores in July. The document also calls the device iPhone 5S, giving credence to speculation saying that the phone will not be named iPhone 6.

Previously, a Chinese website leaked the first photos of iPhone 5S under production. Cybersecurity to create 5 lakh jobs in India

India will require five lakh cybersecurity professionals by 2015 to support its fast growing internet economy as per an estimate by the union ministry of information technology.

These jobs will come up across industries. The financial sector alone is expected to hire over 2 lakh people while telcos, utility sectors, power, oil & gas, airlines, government (law & order and egovernance ) will hire the rest.

A large number of these jobs will be around cyberpolicing and ethical hacking, to check for network vulnerabilities. The need for cyberexperts has grown exponentially as the country is heading towards an internet explosion mostly fuelled by e-commerce, e-banking, egovernance and the social media.

Kamlesh Bajaj, CEO of The Data Security Council of India (DSCI), a Nasscom body that frames guidelines related to data security and data privacy for corporates, said 'Security will fuel the growth of businesses. Trust is critical to build customer confidence and trust comes only through safety. Global clients are increasingly demanding high-level compliance to data security, privacy and cyber security regulations."

Awareness is catching up among stakeholders: government, the academia and the industry. For instance, a few months ago, the University Grants Commission directed all university vice chancellors in the country to introduce curriculum around cyber security in their respective colleges to meet this talent demand.
